Investigation: Cutting Transport Mechanism in Inclined Well Section under Pulsed Drilling Fluid Action

چکیده

Due to gravity, drilling cuttings are easily accumulated in an inclined well section, ultimately forming a bed, which places the drill pipe under strong friction torque. In severe cases, this can cause dragging, stuck drills, and broken tools. Because conventional fluids difficult prevent formation of sections, method carrying with pulsed fluid improve wellbore cleanness is proposed. Experiments numerical simulations conducted investigate effects bed transport velocity, size, height, rotation speed, mass, roughness height. The optimal pulse parameters determined per their respective impact on concerning varied periods, amplitudes, duty cycles fluid. Compared flow rate, produces turbulent dissipation increases thus improves clearance rate.
